cLASSROOM aGREEMENT:
The following is a set of agreed upon rules that are reviewed at the start of every unit to ensure their relevance and continuity.
Students and Teachers agree to these expectations and
1. ARRIVE ON TIME TO CLASS WHEN POSSIBLE, PREPARED FOR LEARNING - Be lined up/ seated in the class no later than 5 minutes after the start of class (bell or not). Have all the necessary books and equipment to ensure the most out of every lesson, this includes correct uniform and text books.
2. LISTEN ATTENTIVELY AND THOUGHTFULLY - Whether it is a teacher or a student, always listen with respect and think about what the speaker is saying.
3. SPEAK RESPECTFULLY TO ONE ANOTHER AND KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL (MOST OF THE TIME) - The odd bit of banter is encouraged, but as would be expected insults and swearing will not be tolerated. Try to speak "Science" as much as possible when in class.
4. DEVICES AND PHONES ARE TO EITHER BE PUT IN THE TECHNOLOGY BOX OR KEPT OUT OF SIGHT UNLESS REQUIRED - The distraction caused by technology needs to be addressed. iPad and laptop devices are allowed for LEARNING only, if an iPad or laptop is used for games or social media, a two (2) warning system will be used during class time. Mobile phones are not required therefore should not be seen or heard during class time. If necessary, notifying the teacher of the need for emergency access to a phone can be agreed upon. Contacting students in class is strictly THROUGH THE GENERAL ADMINISTRATION ONLY.
5. ALWAYS ASK FOR HELP IF NEEDED - THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS - There are silly questions however, keeping the discussion relevant to the topic is essential for the smooth running of the class and content delivery.
6. ALWAYS TRY YOUR BEST!! - Give 100% to YOUR time, don't waste it, think about how you can use it best and do that.
